About the Artist
Since 1984, Dave established himself as a talented Art Director in the advertising and graphic design industry, where his keen sense of color and composition flourished. As an award-winning graphic designer, he maintained a clear distinction between his commercial work and personal artistic pursuits, believing each served a different purpose in his creative journey.
Throughout his life, Dave’s artistic expression thrived in various forms, including snow sculpting, drawing, and plein air painting with oils and canvas amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the Manitoba wilderness. He developed a deep appreciation for plein air painting during canoe trips into the Canadian Shield. Venturing into the rugged terrain with friends and family from G4, he carried supplies of oils, brushes, sketch pads, and canvas, capturing the natural beauty around him. While photography brought him joy, it was through painting that Dave could truly isolate and interpret the elements of nature, revealing his unique perspective within each scene.
Dave’s legacy endures through his art, which continues to inspire those who appreciate the beauty of the world as he did. Though he is no longer with us, his creative spirit lives on in the landscapes he painted and the memories he created.
